Post-Partum Care

Our care and concern for you will continue following your delivery just as it has during your pregnancy. We look forward to providing for your lifelong medical care. During the weeks and months following your delivery we will be available to you for any further questions or concerns you may have.

For healthy vaginal deliveries, we will schedule an initial postpartum exam visit at 4 to 6 weeks following your delivery.  This is a good time to discuss any concerns you may have about how you are feeling, what to expect in the coming months and to discuss family planning options.

For healthy Caesarean deliveries, we will schedule visits at one to two weeks following delivery and again at 4 to 6 weeks.

If any concerns should arise, we will be happy to schedule as many visits as are needed to assure your continued good health and comfort.

Following your postpartum visit, and with continuing good health, we would generally plan a return visit to resume comprehensive Well-Woman care at 3 to 4 months following your delivery.
